Chives McAlister is the passion project of Erik Williams, based in Los Angeles, California.  He is a professional DIY-er and has been involved in a range of various bands and genres, but continued to fall back into the pop punk genre in his own songwriting.  From an early age, Erik wanted to be a drummer and got his first drum set when he was 13. He didn't begin songwriting until he won a bass guitar at an Ernie Ball booth at the Denver Warped Tour stop in 2007.   

Although the first official release for the band would not happen for over a decade, the desire to make Chives McAlister a full fledge solo project, in and around the multiple bands he was playing with, was always in the back on his mind, and was made official with the release of the first single "On My Mind" in 2021, followed by the first EP "(be)Hold the Chives" in 2022.

He joined Small Step Records for the release of his sophomore EP, “Refrigerator Worthy” (10 Nov 2023) including the single “I Can't Wait” that coincided with the announcement of a new baby on the way!
